You get to keep your account, your character names will be reserved so to speak. But you will have to purchase the full game or you will not be able to continue to play on the 28th. You need the full version key.

Names are reserved when you play (Using the key) on the BWE's but you will need to purchase the game itself to continue playing post-launch.

Well, at least with the Pre-Order you won't have to pay the full retail price at the time of the games actual release, since you already have put down $5 to $10 US for the Pre-Order and it's deducted from the retail price.

You get to keep the account and the character names, any characters you have worked on in the Beta Events will be erased (as in everything about that character except the name is removed from the servers), and after the 28th you will need your full retail key to continue playing the game.

Edit: Wow, a good three posts were snuck in before I could even post this one. And there had only been Darkmane's original reply when I started this...

You'd like to think that this is the way it will be at all stores. But at Best Buy, they said they will not honor the 10.00 discount I preordered with originally, even if I have the reciept. I am waiting till the game actually comes out to go down there and talk to the mgr. about it. Anyway.. just a heads up. for some. Best Buy=tools

The way I understand it, the amount you pay for the pre-order is supposed to apply toward the purchase price of the full game when it's released. That's what I was told when I purchased the pre-order at CompUSA. So be sure you don't lose your reciept. Best-Buy needs to be clued in. Two other people that I know, ordered online from EBGames, paid the full retail price, and received the package with all of the goodies a few days later. Why would it be any different for a retail outlet?

Well, now I'm definitely freaked out because that's the second time I've seen that mentioned. I'll be doing the same thing if they try to shaft me on the Pre-Order deal, except that I won't be nice about it, and I won't be leaving until my Pre-Order gets honored. Not honoring it would totally go against all previous conceptions of "preordering" an item.

To be honest, I think that in my situation locally, they simply hire people that are good sales people, not how much they know about what. Maybe a few years ago being good with computer gaming would have gotten you a best buy job. Now I think they just hire any tool that can read and write. I am sorry if someone works for or loves best buy and sees this; but the've hit a nerve with me that will not be healed until I get my discount.. at best buy and then I'll return it/unopend - and then go purchase it at Gamespot... where I also pre-ordered for 5.00 instead of 10.00 and where they are all too happy to exclaim that they will take 5.00 off my purchase price. Because that is how vindictive I am.

Keep us posted on how your travails with Best-Buy work out, Darkmane. One of my sons purchased his pre-order there, also, so I'm hoping it works out for the better.

I got my preorder from EB, where the min to put-down on an item is $5.Instead, it came to about $47 total. This includes the game and the preorder, so it did come out right. (Pshhht: I traded in $6 bucks worth of games....That's why it came out a bit lower)
